Make your research manageable
How do you organise your research so you build your family tree? We need to record information about people who may be of interest to us before we can decide who belongs to our family history. Is this John White or that John White my ancestor.
Paul A. Carter, a computer professional and incidentally the creator of NameAndPlace.com will join us to explain how you can organise your raw data by structuring it around people, places, events and names. Converting census returns into a spreadsheet is relatively easy, but how do you structure wills and other free format documents? Paul will show us some approaches you can use.
To join in this branch meeting, you will need a computer device which has a microphone and speakers. Ideally, also a webcam. You also need to be able to access emails from this device. First time users will be asked to download a small piece of software to join the meeting. The meeting link will be emailed to you in advance. Technical help is available for those who need further assistance, please contact booking@berksfhs.org.uk
