Finding Great Grandad: A practical introduction to tracing WW1 soldiers

The talk is aimed at those researching ancestors or local figures involved in the First World War.  This is an introduction to understanding and using the main sources of information readily available.

The meeting is free to members of Berkshire Family History Society and we request a donation of £5 from non-members.
 
Branch library available to members to borrow books.  Refreshments available.  Car park outside the hall.

    Mike has had a lifelong interest in history, especially military and local history. Following a history degree at the University of Reading he worked as a librarian, with both the University and Reading Library. In addition to work on librarianship, he has had three books on the history of Reading published. Mike works for Reading Borough Council, and lives in Tilehurst with his wife and Moggy the Cat.
