Face-to-Face Family History Advice Clinic

Just beginning your family history research and need some advice? Baffled by so many competing research websites? Banging your head against a brick wall? Or struggling with some other issues? In this one-to-one session, one of our seasoned advisors will help you make some progress.

Pre-booking is required because full joining instructions will be emailed to attendees in advance. In your webscreen confirmation of your booking, you will find a form which you will be asked to complete so that we can carry out research in advance. This is because we would like to make the session as useful as possible for you. Please complete the form as fully as possible and return it at least three days before the session date. All information is kept confidentially. Bookings close 3 days before the session.

This session is face-to-face in the Society’s new Family Research Centre.

    Vanessa Chappell

Vanessa has been a member of the society since 2006 and has served as the Society’s Secretary. She was the Chair of the Abingdon Branch for many years, is still an active committee member and also volunteers at our Research Zone assisting visitors with their research.

Vanessa has lived in Abingdon and been married to Duncan for 30 years and has two grown up children. When not researching her own ancestry in Wales, Birmingham, Gloucestershire and Bedfordshire, or her husband’s Scottish roots, she enjoys creative paper-crafting and working in her garden. Vanessa also helps in her husband’s music business ‘Big Ginger Tom Music’, which promotes live acoustic music and she can be found behind the bar in Harwell Village Hall on gig nights!
