If these walls could talk

Following our Tracing a House History talk in January, this talk deals with just one house in East Ilsley. Join Eric as he shows how the process of researching its history connects it to the temperance society, a police inspector involved in the Jack the Ripper case and an orphan sent to Australia who wasn’t an orphan at all.

We will also see that the fabric of the building and its appearance has changed considerably over the last 300 years and during the talk Eric reveals where this house is located in East Ilsley.

This talk is free to members of Berkshire Family History Society but we request a donation of £5 from non-members.
