Basildon Park House & Gardens

This visit to Basildon Park is organised by Computer Branch as part of the special events to celebrate the 50th birthday of Berkshire Family History Society. It is open to members and non-members alike.

Basildon Park is situated 2 miles south of Goring on Thames between the villages of Upper Basildon and Lower Basildon. Gifted to the National Trust in 1978, the current house was built in 1771 by Francis Sykes who made his fortune in the East India Company. As well as the lovely house, there is a great extensive park with four trails that are designed for different ages and abilities.

The visit includes a tour of Basildon Park House with knowledgeable guides in each room. Plus the opportunity to explore the extensive grounds. There are also two tea rooms and a gift shop.

TICKETS – Access to the house and gardens is free to National Trust members, £19 to non-NT members. If applicable, it is payable upon arrival at the venue, so no money is being collected at ticket reservation stage.

Bookings close three days before the event. The meet point point will be communicated by email shortly before the visit.
