Specialist 1-1 Consultations Online – Military Records
Many family historians have ancestors who served in the armed services.
The society is offering three 1-1 consultation and advice sessions on this date with military history enthusiast Trevor Maidment. Each session lasts for up to 30 minutes and pre-booking is required.
Available appointments are: 1.00 – 1.30pm, 1.40 – 2.10pm and 2.20 – 2.50pm.
This is a member-priority event, bookings for non-members will open on 1st November, if available. Tickets cost £4 (members £3).
Trevor specialises in research of all forces’ records and histories, particularly those relating to the British Army. He is very happy to give general research advice such as what military records were created, where they can be found online and what information can be found in them. He also welcomes more specific enquiries relating to the main services: Army, Navy, RAF and Merchant Navy.
To take part in an online advice session, you will need a computer device from which you can access your emails and which has a microphone and speakers. Ideally, also a webcam. Trevor was born in Hampshire and moved to Berkshire in 1975. He is a retired health and safety officer and also worked with the Canal and Rivers Trust. Trevor spent many years as an officer of the Army Cadet Force and is still ‘army-barmy’!
