Researching German Ancestry
James is an Abingdon Branch Committee member and has been researching his partner’s German family tree for about four years. In this short, practical presentation he will be sharing his hints and tips to help you discover your own German heritage.
He will be covering topics such as; a brief history of Germany, some useful German websites and how to tackle some of the trickier aspects of uncovering more recent German family members and will use examples of brick walls that he has come to and overcome.
This talk is free to members of Berkshire Family History Society. We request a donation of £3 from non-members. Pre-booking is required to allow a meeting link to be emailed in advance. Booking ends one day before the event.
For those of you new to Zoom you will be asked to download a small piece of software when you first log on in order to join the meeting. The download only takes 2 minutes. You will need a computer which has a microphone, speakers and ideally a webcam. You will also need to be able to access e-mails from your device.
