    Brian Denton

Brian was born in Reading shortly after WW2 and was educated at Park Lane School (Tilehurst), Reading School and the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, London, where he studied engineering metallurgy. Following a 5 year stint of post doctoral work at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, he returned south and, since then, has lived in Grove, near Wantage.

He is a relative newcomer to family history, beginning serious research only after retirement when he started digitizing old family photographs. He fits the genealogy in around his other two favourite pastimes, railway modelling and playing in the Wantage Orchestra. Brian has been a member of the Abingdon branch of the BFHS since 2019 and, though born in Berkshire, has researched his ancestral roots in Devon, Somerset, the Bristol area, Wiltshire and North Hampshire.
