SUMMARY:Tour of All Saints Church, Wokingham
DESCRIPTION:The current church of All Saints in Wokingham is grade II listed and described by the National Churches Trust as being of “outstanding architectural and historic interest”. Founded in the twelfth century, it replaced a wooden Saxon chapel. The current building has been restored, remodelled and altered throughout it’s history, the last extensive restoration and rebuild taking place under Woodyer in 1863-4. Look out for the fifteenth century octagonal font and Hardman’s East window. \nOur visit will include a tour by John Hook who will introduce us to the history of the church, parish and its people. \nThe meeting place will be notified a few days before the visit. Please arrive 10 mins early for signing in and safety briefing etc.\nNumbers are limited, so pre-booking is required. Bookings close three days beforehand. \nImages: Michael FORD / All Saints, Wokingham CC BY-SA 2.0\nTo book, scroll down.\n
